April 3, 2017  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Are you pregnant? Do you want to make sure you are making the safest choices during pregnancy? Are you wondering how to optimize nutrition for both you and your baby?

If so, there are free materials available in the UH Cafeteria on the topics of prenatal nutrition.

Additionally, there is an educational display in the Comprehensive Cancer Center covering the topic of fiber and cancer.

In the UH Cafeteria, you can find handouts covering:

  • Prenatal nutrition
  • Management of food cravings, food aversions, and morning sickness
  • Food safety during pregnancy
  • Alcohol and pregnancy

When you visit this display, you can also enter for a chance to win a pregnancy cookbook, which provides healthy recipes for you and your baby!

Did you know that you can reduce your risk of developing cancer just by eating more dietary fiber? The average American consumes less than half of the daily recommended intake of dietary fiber. Find out what foods contain the fiber you need by visiting a display located on B1 of the Cancer Center.

Handouts at the display cover:

  • Healthy recipes from the American Institute for Cancer Research
  • Health benefits and food sources of fiber
  • Choosing whole-grain foods
  • Increasing fiber in your diet

You can also enter for a chance to win a cookbook by the American Cancer Society that will provide several healthy recipes and cooking tips!
