On Monday, April 24, Michigan Medicine’s Office for Health Equity and Inclusion will host a Diversity Symposium at the Towsley Auditorium to celebrate the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The half-day event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is one of many campuswide activities supporting U-M’s ongoing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Strategic Plan, which was launched last October.

The day’s events include remarks from keynote speaker Leon McDougle, M.D., M.P.H, chief diversity officer for Ohio State University, who will address how to improve an organization’s work environment and other workforce diversity initiatives.

The agenda also includes announcements about award recipients for DE&I mini-grants and a presentation of best practices from DE&I implementation leads across the organization.
