Culinary classroom: MHealthy hosts spring cooking demonstration
Interested in adding more veggies to your diet but not sure where to begin? Join an Aramark executive chef and a registered dietitian with MHealthy as they join forces to demystify vegetarian cooking and demonstrate just how easy it is to make foods you and your family will love — that also happen to be vegetarian.
Attend “In the Kitchen with Chef — Vegetarian Style” on Tuesday, April 25 from noon until 1 p.m. in the Dow Auditorium to learn how to make dishes that are creative, simple to make and delicious.
“Eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help you feel better and have more energy throughout your day,” said Holly Scherer, a registered dietitian with MHealthy Nutrition and Weight Management. “At the end of the hour, you’ll have more confidence and ability with vegetarian cooking than when you arrived.”
At the event, you will also:
- Receive essential kitchen skills and meal planning tips
- Get step-by-step instructions on preparing easy and simple vegetarian dishes
- Take home healthy recipes
- Enjoy delicious food samples
Participants will also have an opportunity to win a bag of grocery items used to prepare the featured recipes!
The cooking demonstration is free and open to all Michigan Medicine faculty and staff. Be sure to register for the event by Tuesday, April 18.
