The U-M Transplant Center is entering its final week of the Gift of Life Transplant Center Challenge and it needs your help to cross the finish line.

The Transplant Center Challenge is a competition between all nine Michigan transplant centers to register organ donors. The challenge began on April 1, 2016 and will continue until March 31.

The winner will be announced by Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson in April.

What can you do to help? Join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry! Click here and enter your information exactly as it appears on your driver’s license (including your middle name).

What about your medical history? You can join regardless of your medical history. A trained physician will assess all potentially viable organs.

What if you’re already registered? Spread the word and encourage others to join. We all have the ability to save up to eight lives and improve the lives of up to 75 more. If you and two friends join the registry, you could help up to 249 people!

What else do you need to know? Everyone over the age of 18 can sign up. Joining the registry will not affect your medical care and there is no cost to donate.

How can you encourage others to join? Please share this information on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. Help spread the word to save lives.
