Celebrate National Walking Day on April 5

Did you know the average American spends nine or 10 hours of their day sitting? It’s time to get out from in front of your screens and get active!

The Frankel Cardiovascular Center and MHealthy are teaming up to give you two ways to join the National Walking Day movement on Wednesday, April 5:

  • Virtually: Participate wherever you are by taking a short walk in, around or near your workplace on April 5. Post a picture on social media with the hashtags #HealthyForGood or #UMHeartHeroes for a chance to win cool prizes!
  • On-site: Visit experts in the Towsley Triangle from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Grab an MHealthy walking map and take a self-guided walk around the medical center or join one of three staff-led walks, which begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., or noon.  You can also learn Hands-Only CPR from the American Heart Association, buy a Heart Heroes t-shirt and get information on the Washtenaw County Heart Walk/5K Run.
