Transplant Center Challenge calls for organ donors
The Transplant Center needs your help in saving lives! Gift of Life Michigan is coordinating a competition between all nine Michigan transplant centers to register organ donors. The ongoing Transplant Center Challenge will run until March 31. The winner will be announced by Secretary of State Ruth Johnson in April.
Here is what you need to know:
What can I do to help? Join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry! Click here and enter your information exactly as it appears on your driver’s license (including your middle name).
What about my medical history? You can join regardless of your medical history. A trained physician will assess all potentially viable organs.
What if I am already registered? Spread the word and encourage others to join. We all have the ability to save up to eight lives and improve the lives of up to 75 more. If you and two friends join the registry, you could help up to 249 people!
How can I encourage others to join? Please share this information on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. Help spread the word to save lives.
What else do I need to know? Everyone over the age of 18 can sign up. Joining the registry will not affect your medical care and there is no cost to donate.
