Congratulations to the University of Michigan Health System, which has once again been honored for the quality of care provided to our patients.
The Leapfrog Group announced today that UMHS has been named one of the Top Teaching Hospitals in the U.S., meaning our facility stands out from its peers when it comes to safety, quality and accountability. Only 29 hospitals nationwide earned the distinction.
Leapfrog utilizes a number of methodologies in order to compile its list. Among them, a top hospital must:
- Meet vigorous standards when it comes to staffing both adult and pediatric intensive care units buy essay
- Meet or surpass standards in 23 measurable categories, including medication safety, inpatient care management, maternity care, high-risk procedures and infections and injuries
- Earn an ‘A’ in patient safety, an honor UMHS achieved in October
