Lecture to explore concussions in youth sports

Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Susan B. Meister Lecture in Child Health Policy.

This year, the CHEAR Center welcomes soccer legend Briana Scurry and Steve W. Berman, J.D., to speak on the subject of "Concussion and Youth Soccer: Balancing the Risks of Recreational Sports for Children." 

Scurry will discuss her personal experiences with concussions as a professional soccer goalie and her efforts to influence policy through testifying before Congress. Berman will speak on his experience leading a whistleblower lawsuit on behalf of parents to change rules for FIFA and youth soccer regarding heading and substitution rules.
