Help change the game for children fighting cancer

September 7, 2016  //  FOUND IN: News,

This month, U-M’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is teaming up with the University of Wisconsin American Family Children’s Hospital to change the game for children fighting cancer.

Over the course of the month, which is childhood cancer awareness month, the two institutions are competing to see who can raise the most money for childhood cancer research. The more raised together, the faster doctors can bring new, safer, more effective cures to kids who need them now.

One hundred percent of the funds raised as part of the challenge will directly go toward breakthrough research taking place at the two internationally-respected childhood cancer programs.

In addition to the Wisconsin rivalry, Ann Arbor and UMHS will have several other initiatives as part of this year’s Block Out Cancer campaign:

  • There are point-of-sale donation opportunities at the Cottage Inn restaurant.

The month-long Wolverine/Badger Challenge will culminate in a battle at The Big House, when the winner will be announced at the Oct. 1 Michigan vs. Wisconsin football game.
