A direct link to what’s new in Office 2016 can be found on the main UMHS Internal Home Page under “Other Resources.”
Office 2016 offers some new features and better integration between applications, but the changes are intuitive and easy to follow. If you wish to review some of the enhancements before your device is upgraded, the following resources on the Office 2016 page are recommended:
- Preparing for Office 2016 checklist: This checklist helps you recreate some of the customizations you made in Office 2010 that may not carry over. Information on how to work with add-ins and documents created in Office versions prior to 2010 is also included.
- Office 2016 eLearning: A step-by-step video showing the new features of each application.
- Opening Excel email attachments in Outlook: A tip sheet explaining the special process required to open Excel files that contain macros.
Quick Start Guides
The Office 2016 training page provides even more resources including Quick Start Guides that show the differences between Office 2010 and Office 2016.
Visio and Project are stand-alone applications that are not part of the suite and require licenses that must be purchased separately by your department administrator. To request a license or if you have other questions about the upgrade, please contact the UMHS Service Desk at 734-936-8000.
