Join UMHS JDRF walk team to fight diabetes
Join UMHS and JDRF on Sept. 18 to help raise awareness and funds for the JDRF One Walk to Cure Diabetes!
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that impacts millions of people around the world. JDRF is the leading global organization that funds research to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes. As a platinum sponsor, UMHS is partnering with JDRF to help raise awareness as well as funds for research.
Here is what you need to know about the upcoming walk:
- When: Sunday, Sept. 18, registration is at 8:30 a.m., walk begins at 9:30 a.m.
- Location: Hudson Mills Metropark, just north of Dexter
- Length of walk: 3 miles
Employees can sign up for one of the existing U-M teams or simply join the UMHS team named “U-M Health System.”
Click here to register, select the One Walk page, sign in to search U-M or UM under Join a Team and choose your team.
If you register to walk (or register to be a virtual walker) and donate at least $25, you will receive a special U-M walk t-shirt (while supplies last).
And if you register by Aug. 23 with at least a $25 donation, you will be entered into a drawing to win four tickets to see the Detroit Tigers play the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 30 at Comerica Park in Detroit.
