Stay safe by using marked crosswalks

While all of us are tasked with keeping our patients as safe as possible, please keep your own safety in mind when walking to and from UMHS parking lots.

New flashing overhead lights have been installed at the crosswalk on Fuller Rd., near Mitchell Field, in order to provide pedestrians and drivers alike with an extra level of security.

Here’s what you need to know:

• If you park in parking lots M75 and NC78, use the marked crosswalk and push the button to activate the flashing lights and beacons.
• Do not cross the street at any point other than the marked crosswalk, even if trying to catch a bus to the medical center campus.
• When getting off a U-M bus, do not jaywalk straight to your car as it places you and drivers around you in danger.
