Martha Funnell inducted into the American Academy of Nursing
Department of Learning Health Sciences faculty Martha Funnell, MS, RN, CDE was among 164 nurses to be inducted into the American Academy of Nursing. The inductees will be honored at a ceremony to be held during the Academy’s annual policy conference, Transforming Health, Driving Policy, which will take place October 20-22, 2016 in Washington, D.C. The Academy is made up of about 2,900 members who are nursing’s most accomplished leaders in education, management, practice and research. Fellows are recognized for their extraordinary nursing careers and contributions to nursing science.
Martha is an Associate Research Scientist of Learning Health Sciences in the Department Learning Health Sciences and an Adjunct Lecturer in Nursing. Her research focuses on diabetes care and self-management, patient education, psychosocial support and behavioral goal-setting in chronic disease, care management training, and patient-professional communication strategies.
