Report Concerns: The University of Michigan Compliance Hotline

June 20, 2016  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The University of Michigan is committed to the highest ethical standards and actively works to both educate faculty and staff about the institution’s compliance policies and ensure that there is a process in place to report potential issues.

The Compliance Hotline features a toll-free phone number (1-866-990-0111) and a web-based reporting tool through which the entire U-M community can report concerns about financial, regulatory, substance abuse, patient safety, and NCAA issues.

The Hotline is staffed by a third-party vendor not affiliated with the university. The company provides:

  • Independent, trained interview specialists
  • The option of caller anonymity (if you do choose to report anonymously, please provide enough detail to allow for comprehensive review of your concern)
  • Accessibility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Multilingual staff

You can also report issues through your supervisor. In an emergency, call 9-1-1.

We encourage you to review the Compliance Resource Center website. The website offers practical information about many compliance topics and identifies contacts who can answer your questions about compliance. You can also review summaries of compliance information based on your role at the university (e.g., staff member, manager).
