Call for Volunteers: Community Health Tent

June 21, 2016  //  FOUND IN: Our Employees

The Ypsilanti Heritage Festival is a popular annual community and family event held at Riverside Park. The free screenings provided by UMHS and Community Health Tent partners like Blue Cross Blue Shield, St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor, and Washtenaw County Public Health, have been a valuable resource to community members. This year’s health tent will be a dynamic and interactive experience with live demonstrations and interactive health education activities!

We are looking for volunteers to help provide health information and provide blood pressure screenings for community residents on:

Friday, August 26, noon – 6 p.m.
Saturday, August 27, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, August 28, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Volunteers will be asked to commit to a minimum two-hour time block. In addition, any giveaway items that your department would like to donate are welcome. This is a great opportunity to promote your programs and the amazing work you do for our patients and families.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lindsay McCarthy, marketing and events coordinator, UMHS Community Programs and Services, at 734-998-2184 or at
