UH West Staff Elevators 12,13 & 14 to temporarily close for upgrade

Please be advised that the following elevators will be out of service, one at a time for approximately two months each, for control upgrade. The new controls will be more reliable, more efficient, and provide service for the next 30+ years:

• UH West Staff/Patient 12
• UH West Staff/Patient 13
• UH West Staff/Patient 14

This project begins June 1, 2016 and is expected to end December 1, 2016. Options for vertical transportation are as follows:

• Restrict elevator use for patient transport
• Cart traffic use East Staff Elevators
• Pedestrian travel use the stairs when possible, especially going down
• Pedestrian travel use the East Staff or Visitor Elevators
• Modify delivery schedules when possible to non-peak times (nights, early mornings)
• Do not use the Visitor Elevators for Cart Transport
• Plan your travel/work to minimize elevator use
