U-M emeritus faculty member visits EC3 thanks to CPR

Rudi Ansbacher, M.D., U-M emeritus faculty member, had a scary day one year ago last month when he went into cardiac arrest while swimming at the U-M North Campus Recreation Building.

Thanks to the heroic acts of Julia Walsh, a former U-M student and the lifeguard on-duty during his emergency, he was able to survive. Walsh performed CPR and used an AED machine to keep him alive. He was then transported to the U-M Emergency Critical Care Center (EC3).

Last month, Dr. Ansbacher returned to the EC3 to thank his fellow U-M colleagues and staff who helped him during his time of need.
