Screen Capture and Certain iCloud Services Now Available for Haiku and Canto Users

May 16, 2016  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Recent updates to the UMHS Mobile Device Management Service, also known as AirWatch, will now allow Haiku and Canto users to utilize screen capture and certain iCloud services previously restricted. This update is in response to feedback from clinicians indicating these restrictions, particularly on personally owned devices used primarily for non-work purposes, have dissuaded a wider adoption of AirWatch.

When utilizing these features, users should note that screen capture of PHI will be stored alongside other photos on the device and uploading PHI to Apple’s iCloud services is a violation of HIPAA. Users are encouraged to refresh their knowledge of UMHS Policy 01-04-507 on Mobile Device Security. For more information on IT Security, please visit the Safe Computing and Help Me Now websites.
