The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers “Functional Fitness for Older Adults,” an eight-week exercise program specifically for those 62 years and older.

The goal of the class is to provide proven exercise interventions to help older adults combat the physical effects of aging such as muscle loss, weight gain, compromised balance and reaction time, worsened posture, flexibility and increased frailty.

Maybe you have a parent who is struggling with mobility issues related to de-conditioning? This class might be best for them.

Participants are introduced to various strength and cardiovascular equipment in addition to beneficial posture, balance and stretching exercises. Classes take place twice a week. See our website for a brochure, location, costs and contact information.
