Recognition by the American Society of Addiction Medicine
Ypsilanti, MI— Dr. Herb Malinoff is being recognized for his inclusive work with Pain and Addiction and will accept the 2016 annual award from the American Association of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) on April 16 in Baltimore, MD.
The Board of Directors of ASAM will award Dr. Malinoff at the April annual meeting; he will receive this honor “for outstanding contributions to the growth and vitality of our Society (ASAM), for thoughtful leadership in the field and for deep understanding of the art and science of addiction medicine.”
ASAM’s 47th Annual Meeting is being held April 14-17 in Baltimore. According to their website (http://bit.ly/1Mc7z20), the conference is “the largest gathering of addiction physicians, psychiatrists, clinicians and academicians who treat and help patients with substance use disorders.”
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Malinoff is board certified in addiction medicine, pain management and internal medicine. Dr. Malinoff has made great strides in the field of addiction medicine through his practice. He is the founder of Pain Recovery Solutions, an Ypsilanti clinic that implements a unique and personalized approach to treating chronic pain and opioid dependence.
Dr. Malinoff is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan and an Attending Physician at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. Additionally, he served on the ASAM Board of Directors for four years and was the Co-Chair of the Annual Pain and Addiction Scientific Course for eight years.
