Metabolic syndrome is a group of risk factors that include high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high cholesterol levels, and abdominal fat. Having several of these risk factors compounds the disease risks, such as blood vessel and heart disease that can lead to heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes.
The good news is that it can be managed with lifestyle changes in nutrition, exercise, and weight loss. The Metabolic Fitness Program sessions combine educational discussions and clinically-supervised exercise.
Referral and individual clinic screening appointments are required. Weekly sessions meet Tuesdays eves in Cardiovascular Medicine at Domino’s Farms.
