Health Affairs – Value-based insurance plan boosts employee use of preventive services, reduces ER visits

On Thursday, April 7, V-BID Center Director Dr. A. Mark Fendrick will speak at the Health Affairs Briefing on Patients’ and Consumers’ Use of Evidence in Washington, DC.  Dr. Fendrick will speak during Panel 5:  Engaging on Price and Quality.

Dr. Fendrick’s presentation is titled Value-Based Insurance Design:  Improving Adherence Through Shifting Benefit Designs.  Dr. Fendrick will discuss V-BID in the context of Connecticut’s Health Enhancement Plan (HEP).  The associated Health Affairs article, released on Monday, April 4th, reports the results of the HEP’s first 2 years.
