Career Development Passport program returns for staff members

Career development is the number one topic of interest for U-M staff, as identified in a 2015 Voices of the Staff survey of staff members across the university.

In response to staff members’ need for information to guide their continuing career and professional development, University Human Resources is repeating the Career Development Passport Program, a yearlong program for regular Ann Arbor campus and Health System staff. It is being offered again after a successful pilot in 2013-14.

The program helps participants advance their career development goals by providing:

• Career navigation and development presentations across a variety of career or job families and classifications.

• Opportunities to engage in career networking, coaching and mentoring activities.

• Access to career development tools and resources.

• Helpful information about career advancement and professional development at U-M.

There is no cost to participate in the program, but preregistration is highly recommended. Online registration begins April 4.

The 12-month program begins with a Career Development Resources and Education Fair on May 17. Participation at this event is strongly encouraged.

Workshops and monthly brown bag lunch events begin in June and continue through April 2017.
