U-M’s United Way campaign raises more than $1.3
The University of Michigan’s 2015 United Way employee giving campaign, the largest of the Big Ten universities, raised more than $1.33 million dollars to support life-saving programs and services in the community.
The campaign co-chairs Tony Denton, senior vice president and chief operating officer for U-M Hospitals and Health Centers and the U-M Medical Group, and Cynthia Wilbanks, vice president for government relations, were pleased with the results. They also were grateful for the show of generous support from the U-M community and the more than 500 unit volunteers during the campaign.
In the campaign kick-off message, the co-chairs challenged everyone in the university community to make a pledge of any size, and become a part of the effort to strengthen our community. The challenge was successful with more than 300 new participants, a 10 percent increase this year.
