Using social media for personal and business use

Many of us use at least one social media platform for personal and/or business use. These platforms offer us additional tools for communicating, but they carry the same responsibilities as verbal conversations, email, and other more traditional communications methods.

In short, as a UMHS workforce member, you must always protect our patients’ privacy, you must follow the law and all U-M and UMHS policies, including the UMHS Code of Conduct, and you should carefully consider your sense of professionalism and how you represent yourself, U-M and the health system, no matter how you’re communicating.
