CQI Brown Bag on Phishing Attacks and Identify Theft (Nov.17)

November 10, 2015  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The next Continuous Quality Improvement Brown Bag will focus on protecting yourself and the Health System from Phishing attacks and identify theft.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from noon – 1 p.m. in MCHC Auditorium (F2305). Experts from MCIT, MSIS and the UMHS Compliance Office will be discussing this topic.

Phishing attacks are becoming more sophisticated and are increasingly targeting health care and medical research employees at all levels. These attacks put our patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI), our research data, and our personal information at risk. This presentation will offer tips for recognizing and resisting phishes. Test your phishing savvy using a simulation exercise.

All faculty and staff are cordially invited to attend. For more information, contact 615-5374 or visit the Quality Improvement website at http://www.med.umich.edu/i/quality/edu/qibb.html.
