Dr. Balis appointed to national advisory committee

Ulysses G. J. Balis, M.D., FCAP, FASCP, has been appointed to the Database and Information Technology Advisory Committee of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

ABMS maintains the standards for physician certification in 24 specialties, who are said to be "board certified" if they meet the standards set for their field. The DITAC provides oversight and guidance on policies and procedures related to the ABMS database and information technology.

Dr. Balis is a professor of pathology and directs both the Division of Pathology Informatics and the Pathology Informatics Fellowship Program.
